Thesis (BS Computer Science) Cavite State University
GAYATAO, ALQUINN JOHN M. and ALINGOD, JOSE RIZALDO D. ADAM: A
Personal Computer Assistant. Undergraduate Thesis, Bachelor of Science in Computer
Science, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2016. Adviser: Ms. Ria Clarisse L.
Mojica.
The study "ADAM: Personal Computer Assistant" aimed to develop an assistant for
personal computer users, especially those at home. Adam implements its security features
through face, voice and speech recognition using the local binary pattern histogram (LBPH)
algorithms and basic signal processing. The study was conducted from March 2015 to April
2016 at Cavite State University Main Campus.
The system was developed through the use of iterative development methodology. It
was created using Visual Basic .NET. 200 computer-literate people were the participants that
evaluated the system based on its functionality, reliability, usability,
efficiency, and portability. A software evaluation sheet based on ISO 9126 was used as
thr research instrument.
An overall mean of 4.61 was obtained from the evaluation, which indicates that the
software fully met and far exceeded most of the participants' expectations. They find that the
system is functioning well, reliable in all aspect, easy to operate, efficient, and can adapt to
changes in its environment.
