Abstract: MARQUEZ, Sherill Villa, Don Severino Agricultural College, March 1996. “Factors Associated with Repayment Capability of Cutflower Growers Assisted by Landbank of the Philippines in Selected Upland Towns of Cavite.” Adviser : Dr. Luzviminda A. Rodrin This study aimed to: 1) determine the demographic and socio economic characteristics of the respondents; 2.) determine what factors affect the repayment capability of cutflower growers assisted by the Landbank of the Philippines; and 3.) determine if a relationship exists between the selected characteristics such as age. educational attainment, household size, experience in cutflower growing, membership in association, annual family income, attitude towards work,-expenditures in children’s education and expenditures for social obligations of the cutflower growers and their repayment capability to the LBP. Three municipalities of Cavite were selected as research areas for this study. These are Indang, Alfonso and Silang, Cavite. The respondents were composed of the total enumeration of the 12 members of the Litlit Multi-Purpose Cooperative and 16 members of Cavite Highland Cutflower Cooperative. Data were gathered using interview schedules. Frequency count, percentage, mean, rank and chi-square test were utilized to analyze and interpret the data. Finding showed that the average age of cutflower growers was 43 years; ily size ranges from four to six members; the amount of money spent for children’s education was below P10,000; and the same amount (below P10,000) was spent for other social obligations. The respondents are earning a relatively anual income (P34,250). Almost 50 percent had less experience in the business of cutflower growing; and more than 50 percent has a favorable attitude towards work. Majority of them are able to reach high level of education and are either member and/or officer of various associations in their locality. Out of 28 respondents, 71 percent are considered as poor payers and 29 percent as delinquent payors. Among the independent variables tested, two showed significant relationships with the repayment capability of the cutflower growers. These were: experience in cutflower growing and annual family income.
