ANGIO, PAMELA JEREMI L., PUSO GEORGEANNA MARIE V. Kristo ng Sabong: An Exploration of Unrenowned Occupation. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2015. Prepared under the supervision of Ms. Czherie Fei R. Ledesma, RPm.
This study was about the life inside the cockpit, the tasks and responsibilities, the challenges, the entry and the life outside the cockpit of the Kristos in selected areas of Upland Cavite. It aims to explore their life as a Kristo and their life outside their job. It also seeks to describe their experiences in their everyday struggles.
The study utilized qualitative study incorporating interpretative phenomenological analysis with the use of one-on-one semi-structured interview. It involved 8 kristos from
selected areas in upland cavite.
Based on the obtained results, most of the Kristos were happy, pleased and contented with their job and their life inside the cockpit. Though they experiences a lot of challenges from their challenging tasks and responsibilities, still they choose to stay in their job. However, some of them stayed in their Job because it serves as their primary source of income. They had no choice because they lack education and that it is the only work they know which can sustain for their needs,
Furthermore, most of them had a good relationship with their families. They portray the role of being a father, a husband and a provider very well. Their families do understand the kind of work they have and that they accept it. The Kristos were happy such success for them is that they are with their family.
