The farm practice entitled “Mungbean and Corn Production" was conducted at Barrio Aguado, Trece Martires City from August 7, 1984 to January 3, 1985. This aimed to determine the production of the two crops in the said place.
A one hectare field intended for the production of mungbean and corn was ploughed and harrowed twice with an interval of one week.
Mongo was planted in the first week of August while corm was in the first week of September. Occasional weeding and cultivation was done to kill the weed seeds as they grew in the plantation.
Mongo dry pods were harvested on October 17 to 26, 1984 that was 80 days after planting while corn : was harvested on December 29, 1984 to January 3, 1985, four months after planting.
A total of 83 gantas of mongo and 165 gantas of corn were harvested and sold at P 35.00 per ganta and P 12.00 per ganta, respectively.
A net income of P 2,739.00 was obtained from the two crops after deducting the total expenses of P 2,146.00 from the total gross income of P 4,885.00
