Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. May 2015. Adviser: Prof Jaime Q. Dilidili. The study was conducted from February to March 2015 at the Crop Processing Laboratory of the Department of Agricultural and Food Engineering, College of Engineering and Information Technology in Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. The general objective of the study was to develop a vermicompost tea brewer. Specifically, the study aimed to design and assemble a compost tea brewer; evaluate and compare the performance of the tea brewer with the conventional-bucket method in terms of pH, dissolved oxygen, microbial population, and nutrient content of the produced tea; evaluate the efficiency of the brewer; and conduct cost and return analysis of the system. The brewer was composed of a lm x lm x lm container made up of plastic material with outside steel frame reinforcement with a holding capacity of 1000 liters; stainless tube pipes that deliver air to the tea; a vortex type one horsepower air blower that provides oxygen to the tea. Results of the study reveal that the vermicompost tea brewer provided high content of beneficial organisms and nutrients that plants need. The pH, DO, microbial, and nutrient content of the brewed tea were more efficient and beneficial than the conventional method. Furthermore, it was economical and feasible to use the brewer since it can provide a net income of P28,000.00 per year which can be profitable for the farmers and land owners. It has 75 percent extraction efficiency.
