PANGANIBAN, RHEA Z. and REYES. REXZELYN D. "DESIGN OF SOLID WASTE RECOVERY FACILITY FOR THE MUNICIPALITY OF DASMARINAS, CAVITE." Undergraduate design project manuscript presented to the faculty of Civil Engineering, College of Engineering and Information Technology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite (Main Campus).
The design project was conducted from November 2004 up to February 2005 at Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite (main campus) under the supervision of Engr. Allan Rowel V. Alonalon. It was evaluated on March 03, 2005 at the Audio — Visual Room of the College of Engineering and Information Technology. The general objective of the design project was to design a Solid Waste Materials Recovery Facility for Dasmarinas, Cavite municipality. It specifically aimed to enhance and apply the knowledge in structural designs. The parameters used for the structural designs were maximum moment, shear, and axial loads, which was taken with the aid of engineering software called Structural Aid Analysis and Design (STAAD ProV 2003). A scaled model of the site development plan was provided after completing the analysis and design processes. The structural designs were done in accordance with the National Structural Code of the Philippines (NSCP) and with the Association of Structural Engineers of the Philippines (ASEP) Handbook. Different books were used as guidance in designing such as the Reinforced Concrete Ultimate Strength Design and Steel Design books. The cost estimates of the design were based on the current amount of each material and items from the local markets. The design is intended for the municipality of Dasmarinas but can also be used as the future reference of the other municipality to comply with the Republic Act 2003 as a national policy on the solid waste management.
