Abstract: NATIVIDAD, RYAN B. and TRIPOLI, ROBERT DENIEL M. Proposed Design of a Multipurpose Hall at Brgy. Luntal, Tuy, Batangas. Undergraduate Design Project. Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Cavite State University Indang, Cavite. April 2016. Adviser: Engr. Rico A. Asuncion. The study entitled “Proposed Design of a Multipurpose Hall at Brgy. Luntal, Tuy, Batangas” was conducted at College of Civil Engineering and Information Technology from August 2016 to May 2017. Meanwhile, the study was conducted to analyze the design of structure and materials to be used in building a multipurpose hall at Brgy. Luntal, Tuy, Batangas to formulate the most economical and appropriate structural design for the project. The study was focused mainly on the design of a steel Multipurpose Hall that included the structural plans and analysis of the infrastructure’s footing and foundation, base plate, steel beams, trusses and other related structures. The architectural plan layout of the structure was included elevations and perspective of the covered court. The electrical and plumbing layout was also included. Furthermore, the authors also had undergone site investigation to determine its location and accessibility to serve as the basis on where the structure will be built. Wherein, the researchers considered the accessibility, location, utilities and orientation of the structure. Moreover, the study included the architectural plan and structural details of the proposed structures. The architectural plan of the building composed of perspective, floor plans, electrical layout, and plumbing layout were drawn through the use of Computer Aided Drafting Device (CADD) and Sketchup 2016 while the analysis of the structural members including trusses was done through the use of Structural Aided Analysis and Design (STAAD pro v8i 2007) software. In determining the forces acting on the structure, the researchers used the National Structural Code of the Philippines (NSCP 2010) as a basis in designing the project. Moreover, with the designing of steel section, the study was based on Association of Structural Engineers of the Philippines (ASEP) handbook. The total estimated cost of the design project multipurpose building is P 17, 434, 998.06 including the earthworks, concrete works, masonry works, doors and windows, formworks and scaffoldings, steel works, roofing, painting works, and tile works. The cost of the building per square meter is P 13, 623.22. Based on the results of the study, the authors recommend a more comprehensive study of the proposed design of the multi-purpose hall including other structures for future implementation.

Moreover, with the designing of steel section, the study was based on Association of Structural Engineers of the Philippines (ASEP)
handbook.

Based on the results of the study, the authors recommend a more comprehensive study of the proposed design of the multi-purpose hall including other structures for
future implementation.
