Dagasdas Jr. The Proposed Cavite State University Multi-Purpose Convention Center was conducted at Cavite State University - Main Campus from June 2015 to February 2016. The primary objective of the study was to design a convention center in Cavite State University Main Campus. The study included the architectural plan and structural details of the proposed building. It also included electrical and plumbing layout. The convention center has a basement for parking, ground floor which consists of a large event hall and rooms for meetings and other purposes and balcony. The suggested location for the proposed Cavite State University Multi-Purpose Convention Center is in the open field adjacent to Gate I, inside the University. The measured land area is 4130.738 square meters. The proposed building has a total floor area of the proposed building is 6523.2 square meters comprising the basement floor for parking, ground and balcony floor. The building was designed to accommodate a total number of 2500 individuals. There is at least 981.404 square meters for open space. Architectural and structural plans as well as electrical and sanitary layout was prepared using Computer Aided Design Software. Structural design details and computations was made through the use of STAAD Software to achieve safe structural member for the building. The detailed cost estimates of the materials used in this study were based on the formulas and procedures in the Simplified Construction Estimate Book of Max B. Fajardo Jr. The price was based on the current price per unit of all materials. The estimated total project cost of the multi-purpose convention center was Php 82.614,660.60. Thus, the computed cost per square meter for the proposed Cavite State University Multi-Purpose Convention Center is Php 12,664.74. The authors recommended that a thorough consideration of various design criteria such as visual, acoustic, utility, lighting and ventilation shall be considered in designing a multi-purpose convention center for the optimum usage of the facilities of the proposed building.
