Abstract: Sungaong, Vinai, University of the Philippines at Los Banos, June, 1980. Perception and Attitude of the Cavite Local Government Officials Towards the Operation Land Transfer Program. Major Professor: Dr. Willie C. Depositario. The study sought to find out some demographic, economic and social factors of the Cavite local government officials which are associated with their perception of and attitude towards the Operation Land Transfer program of the Ministry of Agrarian Reform. The investigation was conducted in six municipalities of Cavite province involving 90 local government officials who served as respondents. An interview schedule was used in gathering the data, The findings showed that the majority of the respondents were 44-55 years old, male (80 percent), had completed college (46.7 percent) and had an average household size of 6.28 members. The majority (85.6 percent) were married and the average number of children was 4,74, Twenty-nine respondents owned non-agricultural lands with an average area of 3.30 has.; and 51 owned agricultural land between 0. 50-319.18 has., with an average of 12. 55 has. And two respondents! landholdings were covered by the OLT program, The majority had high income and other occupations. Two-thirds of the respondents held elective positions ranging from 1-2 terms in office; and the majority (70 percent) were SB members at the time of the study. Most of the respondents! relationships of relatives having landholdings were not covered by the OLT program and more than two-thirds (77.8 percent) were members of organizations. The majority (63.3 percent) had a high perception with a favorable attitude. Of the selected variables studied, only four were found significantly related to perception, namely: level of educational attainment, number of children, other occupations and relationships of relatives having landholdings, Five variables were found significantly related to attitude, namely: household size, number of children, agricultural landownership, annual expenses and member in organization.
