This study was conducted to determine the parenting style of the participants in terms: authoritarian, authoritative, permissive; the problems encountered by the participants in terms of: financial, discrimination, taking care of the child, lack of knowledge to the condition of the child, Acceptance; the coping mechanism of the participants in terms of mobilizing family to acquire and accept help, acquiring social support, reframing, seeking spiritual support, passive appraisal, determine if there is a significant relationship between parenting style and coping mechanism; and problems encountered and coping mechanism of the participants. Descriptive correlational method of research was used to analyze the relationship between the variables. Total enumeration subject to the willingness of the participants was used to select the participants. A total of 100 parents of children with special needs participated in the study. Parenting style, problems encountered and coping mechanism of parents of children with special needs were used as measuring tools. The results showed that authoritative, acceptance and re framing were the dominant parenting style, problems encountered and coping mechanism respectively. The study also revealed that parents who used authoritative style of parenting and parents who were having difficulty in accepting their child were using reframing as their coping mechanism.
