Abstract: DEL MUNDO, MARDICAR M., FERMA, PAULA AGNES V., JIMENEZ, RIA MAE P. Laking Tatay: Episodic Narrative of Adolescent with Househusband fathers in Cavite. Qualitative Research, Bachelor of Science in Psychology-, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. March, 2018. Thesis Adviser: Ms. Alysa Kae Alegre. This qualitative research is episodic narrative analysis where in specific events and experiences of the participants are the focus of the study which will be based on the written or spoken words or visual representation of individuals. Moreover, it aimed to determine the experiences of children living with their househusband father specifically to determine the relationship and experiences of the adolescent while living with their househusband father. This study sees through the life stories overcoming struggles, developing, experiences, relationship and insights of children living with their house husband fathers. The participants were chosen through the use of purposive sampling technique and interview using semi structured interview. Researchers obtained their participants with specific characteristics: (a) Four (4) male and four (4) female children having house husband fathers in selected areas of Cavite specifically in Dasma, brats and Bacoor. (b) age ranges from 13-19 years old. (c) Have been with their house husband fathers for at least a year. (d) there must be a mother and father is it just that the mother is gone for work. (e) the father is the one who is always there for the children at all times. In connection with the previous studies about the stay at home dad or househusband fathers, this study was conducted to determine the behind the scene stories towards the relationship and experiences of an adolescent of having a house husband father in selected areas of Cavite. The results revealed that adolescents are capable of developing a close and open relationship with their father who stays at home. Yet, not everyone is capable of doing so. Just like any other relationships, it takes time and effort to be close to each other. Their experiences include arguments and misunderstanding that did not last for a long time because a father only wants his children to learn their lesson and be in good terms afterwards. They are not into tolerating unpleasant behaviors likewise for a mother who disciplines, guide and takes care of the children.
