Abstract: LASCANO, HAZEL CLIMACOSA. , Laboratory School, School of Education, Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite,' 'Effect of Pruning on the Flowering and Suckering Performance of ANTHURIUM: Adviser: Mrs. Estrellita Morena This study was conducted at the author’ s residence inMahabang Kahoy Cerca, Indang, Cavite from June 12, 1994, to December 12, 1994 to determine the effect of pruning on the flowering and suckering performance of anthurium plants. Anthurium plants were planted in 80 pots divided into four treatments with four replications. Pruning was done one week after planting, each plant pruned according to their assigned treatments. Treatment O (control)' was not subjected to pruning to serve as basis for determining the difference of pruned plants, Treatment L (2 leaves left after pruning), Treatment 2 (3 leaves left after pruning) and Treatment 3 (4 leaves left after pruning) were the treatments used in this study. This study revealed that pruning gave significant effects on the anthuriums' flowering performance, Treatment 3 (4 leaves left after) pruning) gave the best results obtained the highest number of flowers, highest mean in the width of flowers and highest mean in the height of plants’, These results confirmed the effectivity Of pruning on the growth and flowering performance of anthuriums
