Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2010. Adviser: Mrs. Lenila A. de Vera. The study, entitled “Effectiveness and Efficiency of the Health Care Delivery System of the Municipality of Alfonso, Cavite”, was geared to evaluate the health care delivery system of the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Alfonso in terms of its effectiveness and efficiency. Facilities, system and services of Rural Health Unit of Alfonso, Cavite, were evaluated using a validated and modified instrument based on Sentrong Sigla Assessment Tool. A survey was conducted covering 32 barangays in Alfonso, Cavite. Twelve respondents who avail the health care services of Alfonso RHU were taken from each barangay. Alfonso RHU had 79.16% conformity to the standard set by the Department of Health. The respondents’ perception the health care services were that health services are available, affordable, accessible and acceptable. On level of satisfaction of the respondents, the health services were rated satisfactory. For the overall extent of effectiveness and efficiency, respondents perceived the health care services as effective and efficient. Results of the statistical analysis confirmed that the level of accessibility, availability, affordability, acceptability of the health care services offered by the RHU have significant relationship to the perceived effectiveness and efficiency of health care services evaluated.
