Abstract: MATAWARAN, MAVIE LEBOSADA, “Distribution Strategy and Service Quality Management of 88 Sunfreight Express Corp.” An Undergraduate Case Study, Bachelor of Science in Business Management, major in Operations, Cavite State University, Indang Cavite, May 2017. Adviser: Mrs. Rowena R. Noceda. The case study was conducted at 88 Sunfreight Express Corp at Unit C 707 Columbia Airfreight NAIA Avenue, Sto. Nino, Paranaque City from January 9 to March 9, 2017 primarily to determine the distribution strategy and service quality management of the firm. Specifically, the study aimed to identify the distribution strategy used by 88 Sunfreight Express Corp., to identify the service quality implemented of 88 SEC, to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the company and to identify the existing problems faced by the company and recommend feasible solutions to the problems identified. The study focused on the distribution strategy and service quality management of the firm. Data were obtained through personal interview with the employees and observation of the daily activities of the company. Other information was gathered from the records maintained in the office files. The study presented information about the company’s history, organization and management, services and management policies. Descriptive method of analysis was used in analyzing the data regarding the distribution strategies and service quality. The company services offered are Domestic Freight Forwarding, Consolidation and Devanning Custom Brokerage, Trucking and Delivery Services, Organic Livestock and Exhibit Logistics, PEZA and Freeport Logistics Solution and Project Cargo Logistics. 88 SEC offers complete logistics solutions to all clients whether its big or small, near or far, whatever be the nature and purpose they can handle it. The operation process of the company is divided into two (1) for the new clients and (2) for the in-house clients. In terms of distribution strategies the company used are optimized transportation, assignment of driver based on specialized location, early arrival of trucks, outsourcing and regular updates on client. The service quality management implemented by the company are proper choosing of service vehicle, proper packaging and labeling and proper goods inspection. The firm faces problems such as lack of service vehicle, miscommunication of co- workers, delay of deliver due to climate change, late released of cargo in pier, truck ban and cancelation of shipment. One of the plan of the 88 Sunfreight Express Corp is to become independent form its sister company, become number | Supply Chain Logistics company and to increase the sales to sustain the necessary needs. 88 SEC should pursue the ISO certification to increase sales. The company may avail cheaper service vehicle with the same quality provided. Also, the company may acquire a system that update the clients from time to time.
