The plant practice was conducted from November 2014 to January 2015 for a total of 300 hours at Ram Food Products, Incorporated located at Km. 46, Pulo, Cabuyao, Laguna.
The plant practice was conducted for the student to acquire hands-on experience. In monitoring and inspection of raw materials; to obtain skills and knowledge in conducting microbial analysis of raw materials, finished products, equipment, personnel, water and air; and to acquire hands-on experience in performing physico-chemical evaluation of raw materials and finished products.
During the training, the student was oriented with the company and its working policies, the different facilities and equipment, the employees, and all the activities involved in assuring the quality of raw materials and finished products.
This plant practice exposed the student to actual food processing and enhanced the student’s ability to handle commercial food analysis operations. The author learned not only the working ethics and skills but also developed good personal relation among co-workers and easily adapted to the working environment.
