MACHIDA, AYUMI E and MARTAL, FERNAN S. and MUTYA B. TAMIO. Design and Development of The College of Engineering and Information Technology Faculty and Staff Tracking System Display Board. Undergraduate Design Project. Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2009. Adviser: Mr. Bienvenido C. Sarmiento Jr.
The design and development of The College of Engineering and Information Technology Faculty and Staff Tracking System Display Board was conducted at Langkaan-2, Dasmarinas, Cavite and at J. Dimabiling St. Barangay 4 Indang, Cavite. The general objective of the study was to design, develop, and construct a Faculty and Staff Tracking System Display Board. The display board was composed of two main parts: the display board, and the desktop computer. The display board was composed of the display output, which includes the LED and the 20 characters x 4-lines LCD screen, the device input, which includes the selector and microcontroller, and numerical keypad. The display board can put on view the recent time and nearest probable location the ID device bearer was last detected. Numerical keypad was placed at the bottom right of the board wherein the user will input the code for the names of the 10 randomly selected faculty and staff. A card slot wherein the codes and the names it represents were also included in the display board. An LCD screen was also installed in the board that will display the real time, and the recent time the particular ID device bearer was last detected. The whole system underwent a series of testing and evaluation to ensure accuracy and effectiveness.
The accuracy of the device was evaluated by comparing the time the ID was detected by the base device and the time of detection displayed by the display board. The display board successfully displayed the location of the ID device bearer and the time.
