Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering. Cavite State University, lndang, Cavite, June 2019. Adviser: Dr. David L. Cero. A study was conducted to evaluate the growth performance of lettuce (Lactuca sativa var. Loose-leaf) and tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus var. Nile) in a small-scale aquaponics system. A pipe Nutrient Film technique constructed vertically was incorporated for the lettuce and an intensive culture method was used for the tilapia in the tank culture. The hydroponics system component was used for one cropping cycle. A stocking density of 63 fingerlings/m3 was used in aquaculture which resulted to 12 fingerlings per rearing tank. The hydroponics component used varied in three (3) different planting densities: Treatment 1 — 8; Treatment 2 — 12; Treatment 3 - 16 seedlings of lettuce. Ti lapia was reared for 25 days and thrived best in Treatment 2 which yielded an average weight of 49.97 g. However, the average harvested fish weight obtained in all of the systems was only 75.21% of the average growth of fish that should be obtained in a 25-day span according to the Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR). Lettuce was also grown for 25 clays in which Treatment 1 produced the highest average yield and thrived best in the system with an average yield of 83.21 g.
