Abstract: AVILLA, ANNE CHERENE P., BAYBAY, MYLENE E., MANGUBAT, JOHN PATRICK O. Entrepreneurial Tendency of Overseas Filipino Workers Dependents in Selected Areas of Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Business Management. Cavite State University. April 2016. Thesis Adviser: Ms. Rowena R Noceda. This study was conducted to determine the entrepreneurial tendency of Overseas Filipino Workers' dependents in selected areas of Cavite in terms of motivation, creative tendency, calculated risk taking and locus of control. Descriptive research design was used in the study. The respondents of the study were 150 overseas Filipino workers dependents from selected areas of Cavite. Simple sampling technique was also used in this study. This study used survey questionnaire that was composed of three parts. Those are the socio-demographic profile of the respondents, the entrepreneurial tendency, and the hindrances. Statistical measures used in the study were mean, percentage, range, frequency, standard deviation, Chi Square and Spearman Rank Correlation Coefficient. The result revealed that the OFWs' dependents have a high chance of starting a business because they fall on the level of high motivation, creative, risk taker, and positive outlook. The result also revealed that only age can affect calculated risk taking; educational attainment can affect motivation; and civil status and relationship to OFW can affect creative tendency and calculated risk taking of the participants. Furthermore, the three most agreed hindrances that may affect the participants in starting a business includes: thinking of the risk that they may encounter, effect of current economic situation to the business that they want and having no excess money from the remittance they received.
