Abstract: DEVEZA, PRINCESS LI-ANNE ARBIL R. Profile, Paternal Involvement and Social Adjustment of Young Fathers in Selected Barangays in General Trias Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis, Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite, April 2011. Adviser: Ms. Armi Grace L. Bicomong. The study was conducted to determine the profile, paternal involvement and social adjustment of young fathers in selected barangays in General Trias Cavite. Specifically, certain questions were answered such as: (1) the profile of the young fathers in selected barangays in General Trias, Cavite in terms of age, highest educational attainment, occupational status, and family monthly income; (2) the level of paternal involvement of the respondents in terms of engagement, accessibility and responsibility; (3) the level of social adjustment of the respondents in terms of friends, parents, parents-in-law and wife/partner; (4) significant relationship between the profile and the level of paternal involvement of the respondents; (5) significant relationship between the profile and the level of social adjustment of the respondents; and (6) significant relationship between the level of paternal involvement and level of social adjustment of the respondents. It was found out that most of the respondents fall in the age of 21-22 years of age, reached secondary education, employed and received an amount of 1000 to 5,999 as their family monthly income. It was also found out that the respondents have a very high level of paternal involvement and high level of social adjustment. Further, it can be seen in this study that age is significantly related to paternal involvement of the respondents such as engagement and responsibility, while highest educational attainment does not affect or has no significant relationship towards their paternal involvement according to all of its factors. On the other hand, occupational status is significantly related to their accessibility while family monthly income has a significant relationship to their accessibility and responsibility. More so, age of the respondents has a significant relationship in their social adjustment to their friends and parents, while highest educational attainment is not significantly related towards their adjustment according to all of its factors. On the other hand, occupational status has a significant relationship in their social adjustment towards their friends and parents-in-law and family monthly income is significantly related to the respondents' social adjustment with their parents-in-law and wife/partner. However, paternal involvement according to its factors such as engagement, accessibility and responsibility is significantly related to the social adjustment of the respondents specifically their adjustment towards their parents, parents-in-law and wife/partner.
