Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2013. Adviser: Ms. Armi Grace B. Desinganio. The study determined the anxiety level and coping mechanism of the students with OFW parents. Coping mechanism were divided into three sub categories, problem focused coping, emotion focused coping, and avoidance coping. Purposive Sampling technique was used in the study as well as availability technique. Anxiety test, a researcher made test, and Coping Inventory for Stressful Situation, a modified test, was used and administered to selected students with OFW parents. To know the results, different statistical treatment was utilized: frequency and percentage to determine who among the students parent works abroad as well as the coping mechanism they use; mean and standard deviation to determine their anxiety level; spearman rank correlation coefficient to evaluate if there is a significant relationship in their anxiety level and coping mechanism; and kruskal-wallis to know the difference in anxiety level and coping mechanism of different group of participants. Results of this study reveal that, the father have the largest percentage working abroad. Most of the participants have mild anxiety level, and most of them used problem focused coping as well. There was a significant relationship between anxiety level and coping mechanism of the participants that means the anxiety level is affected by how the participants use coping mechanism. There is no significant difference on the anxiety level of different group of participants, as well as their coping mechanism whether they have OFW father, mother, or they have both parents working abroad.
