ALCARAZ, FHRINGLES A. Profile, Job Satisfaction and Job Burnout Among Punong Barangays in Disrict HI of Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University. April 2011. Thesis Adviser: Ms. Imelda R. Filart.
This research had the purpose of studying the job satisfaction and job burnout among Punong Barangays in District III of Cavite and was conducted and administered among 55 respondents in District III of Cavite. Specifically, the study described the profile of the respondents in terms of: age, gender, civil status, educational attainment, length of service and salary. It focused to determine the level of job satisfaction (work itself, working condition, interpersonal relationship, recognition, responsibility and benefits) and level of job burnout (emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and reduced personal accomplishment). It also focused to determine if there was an existing relationship among profile, level of job satisfaction and job burnout and if job satisfaction is significantly related job burnout. Based on the result, the researcher found out that the null hypothesis of no significant relationship between profile in terms of age, gender, civil status and salary to level of job satisfaction was accepted except for benefits where null hypothesis was rejected. In addition, it also revealed that educational attainment had no significant relationship to job satisfaction. It further showed that the profile had no significant relationship to level of job satisfaction in terms of work itself, working condition, interpersonal relationship, recognition and responsibility except for the benefits of the respondents
The researcher also found out that the null hypothesis of no significant relationship between profile in terms of age, gender, civil status, length of service and salary to job burnout in terms of emotional exhaustion and depersonalization was rejected except for reduced personal accomplishment where null hypothesis was accepted. It also revealed that respondents' educational attainment had no significant relationship to job burnout. The researcher also found out that the null hypothesis of no significant relationship between job satisfaction and job burnout in terms of emotional exhaustion and depersonalization was rejected except for reduced personal accomplishment. It further showed that job satisfaction had a significant relationship to job burnout in terms of emotional exhaustion and depersonalization of the respondents and had no significant relationship to reduced personal accomplishment. Based on the result, it could also be inferred that the job satisfaction and job burnout had a significant relationship to each other because when individual job satisfaction tend to be higher, the level of job burnout tend to be lower and when an individual had low level of job satisfaction, job burnout tend to be in a high level. They would not experience job satisfaction if a person experienced job burnout.
