A Correlational Analysis of the Demographic Profile, Emotional intelligence and Aggression Level of the Faculty members of College of Arts and Sciences in Cavite State University SY 2005-2006.Undergraduate Thesis. This study explored the correlation of the demographic profile, emotional intelligence and aggression level of the faculty members of College of Arts and Sciences Cavite State University. Specifically, the study was conducted for the following purposes: to find out the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of age, gender, years in teaching and employment status: to determine the emotional intelligence level of motivation and people skills; to determine the aggression le, el of the respondents; to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence to aggression level among the respondents; and to measure the extent of relationship of demographic profile to emotional intelligence and aggression level. In the conduct of the study, sixty-one (61) faculty members of the College of Arts and Sciences in Cavite State University were used as respondents. The Emotional Intelligence test used by Rodrin (2004) containing 30 items was administered by the researcher to measure the Emotional Intelligence of faculty members. The aggression level test of Miller (1995), contains 20 items that were used to measure the aggression level of the respondents. Included in these questionnaires were the demographic items. The questionnaires were checked, tallied, tabulated, presented and interpreted the help of the statistician. Results of the study revealed that the average age of the faculty respondents ranged from 35 to 36 years old. Majority of the respondents were female. The average number of years in teaching is I1. Furthermore, majority of them were hired on a contractual basis. Moreover, results showed that CAS faculty members have high emotional intelligence. With regard to aggression, the respondents have low aggression level. The study confirmed that Emotional Intelligence significantly affects the aggression level of the respondents. It was also found that age, years in teaching, and employment status significantly affect emotional intelligence. However„ demographic profile does not affect the aggression level of the respondents. It only shows that those respondents with higher emotional intelligence are expected to have lower level of aggression and those respondents with lower emotional intelligence were expected to have higher level of aggression.
