Abstract: DAVILA, TONY ROSE T., EVANGELISTA, ANNE KRIZZA O. Social Transition of Transwomen after undergoing Hormonal Replacement Therapy. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University Indang,Cavite. April 2016. Adviser: Ms. Josephine P. Manapsal, MP RP. This study aimed to determine the: 1.) Underlying reasons for transwomen to undergo hormonal treatment; 2.) The secondary characteristic or physical changes happens in the body of transwomen when they undergo Hormonal Replacement Therapy (HRT); 3) The emotional condition and problems encountered by transwomen before and after social transition and Hormonal Replacement Therapy (HRT); 4) How transwomen view their life, health, intimate relationship before and after social transition; 5) How do transwomen involve in civic society after social transition. With the use of snowball sampling techniques, there were four (4) participants involved in this study. The interview questionnaire prepared by the researchers was the main instrument in getting the information needed. This study was conducted from June 2015 to February 2016. The study was a narrative analysis, wherein the researchers used semi-structured interviews which are composed of 31 questions. The researchers used a semi structured interview to help participants freely express themselves in a series of encounters. The research revealed the social transition of the participants before HRT were: desire to transform as woman; gender reassignment; desire for social acceptance; gender conforming; transwomen stereotyping; inspiration from transwomen and determination to transitioning. The participant encountered some problems like incongruence; discrimination; violence; bullying; fear of coming out and feeling of heterosexuals discomfort of the society. After HRT, the participant’s social transition life was: satisfaction; competence; pride; happy and fulfilling and active in social life and also to the society
