Abstract: VIADO, MILDRED ANN P. “Expectancy and Work Motivation of Employees of Public Schools in District II, Indang Cavite" Undergraduate Thesis Bachelor of Science Major in Psychology Cavite State University, Indang Cavite. April 2009 Adviser: Ms. Ma. Alodia Mercado The study aimed to determine the relationship of Expectancy and Work Motivation of Employees of Public Schools in District II, Indang Cavite. Specifically. it aimed to determine the demographic profile of the employees of public schools in District II, Indang Cavite in terms of: age, gender, civil status, educational attainment, monthly salary, and length of service. (b) determine the expectancy level of employees in terms of cognition„ instrumentality and valence (c) determine the level of motivation of public schools in district II, Indang Cavite in terms of professional growth, good working condition, infra/interpersonal relationship, safety and security and benefits. Descriptive correlational was utilized in the study, survey questionnaires was used to gather the necessary data Work motivation of the employees was measured using "Work Motivation Scale" lifted and modified from theses of Alelie Romano and the Expectancy of the employee was measured using the Expectancy Scale. The modified questions used by the researcher taken from different theses, books, and websites. The study used one hundred twenty employees of public schools in district II, Indang Cavite as respondents. Majority of the respondents were 41 years old and above. There were more female respondents than males. Majority of the respondents were married, with bachelors degree and 14 years and above in service. Their monthly salary yields to 9001 — 15,000 monthly. The result of the study revealed that the employees of public schools had high level of expectations. In cognition and instrumentality they generally got high while average was noted on the valence. In terms of Work Motivation, it also revealed that the respondents were generally got high in terms of professional growth, good working conditions, safety and security, intra/interpersonal relationship and benefits. The test statistics revealed that the level of significance was less than 0.05. It appears therefore that there is significant relationship between Expectancy and Work Motivation of Employees Public Schools in District II, Indang,Cavite.
