The questionnaire was administered to 373 youth dropouts from 10 barangays in Indang, Cavite particularly in Daine 1, Indang, Cavite; Daine 2, Indang , Cavite; Agosos Indang Cavite; Limbon, Indang Cavite; Bancod, Indang, Cavite; Banaba Lejos Indang, Cavite;Carasuchi, Indang, Cavite; Lumampong Halayhay Indang, Cavite; Guyam Malaki Indang, Cavite; and Alulod Indang, Cavite last November 2008 until January 2009. The findings of the study showed that the percentage of the youth dropouts with the age range of 15 to 20 are continuously growing. Also, the result shows that there are more male dropouts than females. Based on their educational attainment, most of the respondents are high school level while only a number of them have primary education as their highest educational attainment.
Aside from it, in terms of occupation of the parents, the results showed that most of their fathers are not professional because majority of them are fanners. Their mothers have no occupation because most of them are only house wives. Their monthly income falls on 5,000 and below which is the lower income. This study has focused mainly on youth dropouts , therefore the findings for their monthly income falls under the lower value because low income students are much more likely to dropout from school or to stop as compared to student who belong to middle or in high economic status. Among the six factors affecting youth dropouts, financial problem is moderately affected regarding their decisions to drop from school with the highest percent. This only shows that most of the respondents were hindered by their financial problems in continuing their studies. Also, emotional and personal problems were shown as moderately affected their decision to stop from schooling. School problem, peers and poor performance in school were the least factor why they dropped from school. The findings of this study also showed that there is a significant relationship between familial background, in terms of number of siblings and monthly income on the factors affecting the youth to drop or to stop . from schooling. Also, familial background in terms of number of siblings and income has significant relationship to the factors affecting youth dropouts. From the result of this study, occupation of the parents has no significant relationship between factors affecting youth to stop from schooling.
