Results of the study revealed that: (1) most of the chairmen were categorized as older people. The respondents are dominated by males and high school graduates. Majority of their personal income ranges from Php 3,000 — Php 5,000; (2) the barangay chairmen managed to have a very high level in the four subscale making their overall level of emotional intelligence as very high; (3) majority of the barangay chairmen have an experiential decision making style; (4) the barangay chairmen were very effective in leading their respective barangays; (5) there was no significant relationship between the barangay chairmen's demographic profile and leadership effectiveness; there was no significant relationship with the overall emotional intelligence of the barangay chairmen and their leadership effectiveness. However, one of its subscale which is managing other's emotion was found out to be significantly related with leadership effectiveness; there was no significant relationship between the barangay chairmen's decision making style and leadership effectiveness; and (6) managing other's emotion can predict the leadership effectiveness of the incumbent barangay chairmen of Indang, Cavite.
