Abstract: QUIÑONES, LORIANNE ERIKA V. Socio-Cultural Adaptation of Foreign Students in Cavite State University. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in International Studies. Cavite State University. Indang, Cavite. December 2018. Adviser: Prof. Nelia E. Feranil. The study was conducted to: 1) present the profile of foreign students studying in CvSU, Indang, Cavite; 2) discuss the socio-cultural adaptation of foreign students; 3) determine the level of socio-cultural adaptation of foreign students in CvSU; 4) assess whether there are significant relationships between the level of socio-cultural adaptation of foreign students and their age, gender, nationality, length of stay in the Philippines, religion, scholarship status, course enrolled, monthly family income, and monthly stipend/allowance; and 10) identify the difficulties encountered by foreign students while studying at CVSU. The study had a total of 71 foreign students studying in Cavite State University. Frequency count, percentage, mean, range, standard deviation, spearman's rho, and Pearson's chi-square test were used to analyze the data. Most foreign students studying in CvSU were male, between 21 to 25 years old. They were taking different courses in the university and had varied nationalities, monthly family income and monthly stipend/allowance. Only a few foreign students were enjoying educational scholarships while studying at CVSU. Only few of the foreign students in CvSU experienced "slight difficulty" in adapting to Philippine socio-cultural environment. Thus, they had only minor difficulty in their level of socio-cultural adaptation to the Philippines. Test statistics showed that no significant relationship exists between the profile of foreign students and their level of - adaptation. It was found that age, gender, nationality, length of stay in the Philippines, religion, scholarship status, course enrolled, monthly family income, and monthly stipend/allowance were not significantly related to the level of socio-cultural adaptation of foreign students.
