Abstract: CUENCA, TRIISHA MAE S. and FAB1LLON, ARMYLYN D. GOURDeous CUCUMBERific (Cucii;nis Salim L.) PRODUCTION ENTERPRISE Entrepreneurial Development Project Report. Bachelor in Agricultural Entrepreneurship major in Crop Production. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2019. Adviser: Mr. Jefferson Mojica. This project was conducted at Barangay Mahabang Kahoy Cerca, Indang, Cavite from November 2018 to April 2019 with a capital of P 16, 277.5. The project produced marketable cucumber fruits, promoted that farming is fun, exciting and important, gained profit while earning experiences during cucumber production, and determined the profitability of cucumber production enterprise. The project was operated on a 300 m2 area consisting of 234 hills with 1 m x I m spacing. The variety of slicing type cucumber that was used in the production is Amata F 1; it has characteristics of good quality firm fruit that was good for shipping and resisting pest and diseases. Purchase of supplies, materials, and tools were done as pre-production activities. The main production activities were preparation of planting holes was done by mixing 500 g of compost and left for two weeks before planting of cucumber seeds: watering of plant early in the morning to ensure the water requirement of the plants; billing up to anchor the cucumber plants; pest and disease management by scouting; bagging and spraying of organic pesticide (Oriental Herb Nutrient) to minimize the infestation; pruning the lower lateral branches to provide enough nutrients at the upper part of the plant; harvesting of cucumber fruit after 42 days from planting; and marketing of cucumber fruit near the production area and by contact buyers. Marketing of 74 kg of cucumber amounted to P 2, 315 at lower price and 346 kg of cucumber amounted to P 16, 220 at the price ranging from P 50 to P 60. The production produced a total of 1,580 pieces of marketable cucumber fruits weighing 420 kg. Total sales of production amounted to P 18, 535 with a net income of P 4, 530.68. The return of investment was computed at 32.32 percent. The student entrepreneurs encountered some problems during production specifically the preferred marketing place which is Kadiwa Market at Dasmarinas, Cavite; but they started to sell the harvested cucumbers near the production area. The student entrepreneurs experienced and understood how hard and fun it is when it comes on working on land. During the conduct of the project, it allowed the students to apply the previous knowledge and skills that they learned which helped them to run a small business. The students gained more knowledge and also enhanced their skills when it comes to managing a small business after the entrepreneurial development project.
