Abstract: ALCANTARA, JOSEPH C. and MATEL, ALYSSA MARIE C. Development of an Automated Probe-Arm for pH and Temperature Reading. Undergraduate Design Project. Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2015, Adviser: Mr. Bienvenido C. Sarmiento Jr. The design project was conducted to develop an automated probe-arm for pH and temperature reading. Specifically, it aimed to design and develop an arm for holding pH sensor, design and develop a microcontroller-based circuit that monitored pH and temperature level of a liquid substance, develop a program that will control the system, develop an application program using VB.net and a software database using MS Access for the user interface, develop a database using MS Access that store the data gathered, test and evaluate the performance of the system, and conduct cost computation of the machine. The system was constructed and developed at Indang, Cavite and Tanza, Cavite from June 2014 to February 2015 and was evaluated on February 2015 at the Department of Computer and Electronics Engineering, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. The project has four important functions: monitor the pH value of a liquid substance; monitor the temperature at the chamber; allow the user to put a maximum of 10 liquid samples on the test tube; and allow the user to view, filter, store, and print the data using pH and temperature reading database. Results show that the system can effectively monitor the pH level of a liquid substance in the test tube and the chamber temperature,,AA maximum of 10 liquid samples can be processed at a time. The system can view, filter, store liquid substance, and print the data. The data can be transmitted through a USB port connected to the database system for viewing, filtering, storing, and printing.
