This study was conducted to determine the influence of 24 Oras' Kapusong Totoo segment on selected students of Trece Martires City College. Specifically, the study sought to: 1. determine the participants' level of exposure to the Kapusong Totoo segment of 24 Oras; 2. measure how appealing is the segment to the participants in terms of: a. visual effects, b. anchor, c. language and d. emotional appeal; and 3. measure how influential is the segment to the participants in terms of a. volunteerism and b. donations. The study used the descriptive survey to gather the needed data. The participants were selected using cluster sampling. They were the 209 selected students of Trece Martires City College. The instrument used was a questionnaire that suits the objectives of the study. It had four parts which included the participants' personal information, exposure to the Kapusong Totoo segment of 24 Oras, segment's appeal and its influence to viewers. Relative frequency distribution and weighted arithmetic mean were the statistical tools used to treat the data. After watching the Kapusong Totoo segment of 24 Oras, almost half of the participants were influenced to do volunteer work such as feeding programs, repacking and distributing of relief goods during typhoon operations, Gawad Kalinga projects, Christmas party for indigent people, Caritas Manila activities, Give-a-gift projects and volunteer teaching to street children. Two-thirds of the participants were influenced to give money donations after watching the Kapusong Totoo segment of 24 Oras. More than three-fourths of the number of participants were influenced to donate in kind. In addition, clothing was the most donated item.
