Abstract: DELA LUYA, TRISTAN NISI° R. and PANGANIBAN, RON KRISTIAN C. Design of Soil-tire Retaining Wall at CvSU Creek Cavite State University Don Severino Delas Alas Campus, Indang Cavite. Undergraduate Design Project. Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2019. Adviser: Engr. Larry E. Rocela. The study was conducted from November 2018 to April 2019 at the College of Engineering and Information Technology, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite to provide a design and analysis of soil-tire retaining wall along the CvSU Creek Cavite State University Don Severino Delas Alas Campus, Indang Cavite. Specifically, it aimed to: 1. investigate the existing condition of soil on the creek; 2. design a soil-tire retaining wall that will stabilize the soil; 3. provide the estimated cost of the proposed soil-tire retaining wall; 4. provide development site in CEIT Building creek; and 5. provide a tarpaulin for the physical appearance of proposed soil-tire retaining wall. Consultation of the faculty members, especially the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture, and CEIT Physical Planning Unit for recommendations, and as well as resource persons were conducted to know the current condition of the slope. Inspections will be done on the site of the proposed retaining wall. Images will be taken along the CEIT Building riverside to present the current condition of the riverside. The design for gravity retaining wall was the basis for soil-tire retaining wall it has length of 10.26 m which start from the adjacent edge of the CEIT at creek. Soil tire-retaining wall was design with three different heights which were 2.63 m at distance from the initial station of 0 m. The materials estimated for the project was tire, rope and soil. The total estimated cost of the materials and labor through the whole design was 28,977.50 php. The detailed analysis of the design guidelines, procedure and specifications were applied in the study which were carefully studied and detailed as to arrive to a cost efficient and effective design. Detailed surveying, contour map, structural drawings, design specifications and detailed estimates were included in the study. Furthermore, a tarpaulin that contains the illustration of the proposed soil-tire retaining wall was the provided and presented after the completion of the design and analysis process.
