Bachelor of Science in Business Management major in Operations Management, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2019. Adviser: Ms. Maria Cristina L. Desepida. The study was conducted to identify the determinants of inventory management practices of rice wholesalers in Cavite. It specifically aimed to determine the following: the business profile of rice wholesalers in terms of internal factors such as: initial investment, number of employees, years of operation, and number of suppliers; inventory management practices used by rice wholesalers in terms of: warehousing, purchasing, re-ordering point and inventory counting system; significant difference on the inventory management practices when the participants grouped based on their business profile; and the relationship between internal factors and inventory management practices. Using a self-made questionnaire, data were gathered from 37 participants. Descriptive-correlational research designs was employed in the study Kruskal-Walis test was used to compare the forms of business organization of the respondents. Based on a combination of literature, survey and questionnaire appraisal, this study evaluated the inventory management practices of rice wholesalers in Cavite. The number of employees was significantly correlated to reordering point, years in operation, and inventory counting system. The number of suppliers was also significantly correlated to reordering point and inventory counting system. Most of the rice wholesalers highly implemented or highly practiced their inventory management practices. However, there is still a need for more improvement especially regarding some inventory management practices such as reordering point and inventory counting system.
