Leadership Styles of Foreign Managers and Its Effects to Employees' Performance in Selected Manufacturing Companies in Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Business Management major in Human Resource Development Management, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. May 2017. Adviser: Mary Grace A. Ilagan. This study was conducted in different manufacturing companies in Cavite. It aimed to determine the socio-demographic profile of the participants; dominant leadership style of foreign managers; the level of job performance of employees; the factors that affect the performance of employees; the extent of influence of the factors such as motivation, job satisfaction and work environment; the challenges that occur in workplace; relationship between the leadership styles of foreign managers and the job performance of the employees. The participants of the study were the office-based employees of selected manufacturing companies in Cavite and rendered at least two years in service. Total enumeration of participants was utilized in the study. The study used descriptive-correlation method such as mean, frequency count percentage and standard deviation were being used to present the findings of the study on the socio-demographic characteristics, leadership styles of the foreign Managers, the factors affecting the performance of the employees as well as the challenges that occur in a workplace. The level of employee performance was also be determined with the use of. Mean, Standard Deviation, Chi-square as statistical tools. The result showed that the most dominant leadership style is transformational. The overall performance of the employees from different manufacturing companies in Cavite was found above acceptable level regardless of the leadership style of their foreign managers. The outcome illustrates that the factors such as motivation, job satisfaction and work environment are frequently influenced the performance of the employees. Challenges in the workplace were found to be less experienced by the employees. The result revealed that there is no significant relationship between the job performance of the employees and the leadership styles of foreign managers. It means that any changes on the foreign manager leadership style would not have any significant effect or relation to the employees' job performance. Whether the manager is an autocratic"or democratic, transformational or transactional leader, level of employees' job performance would still be the same.
