An Enterprise Development Project Bachelor of Science in Business Management major in Marketing, Cavite State University, Wang, Cavite, March 2000. Adviser: Mr. Ivy Diez. Generally, the study aimed to determine the feasibility of poultry raising in Nasugbu, Batangas. Specifically, it aimed to determine the profitability of a poultry raising business, identify the strategies applicable to the marketing of poultry in terms of pricing promotion and distribution, and to identify and provide possible solutions to problems in the production and marketing of poultry. This study was conducted at San Roque Street, Nasugbu, Batangas from September 22 to February 12, 2000. The project was mainly concerned with the production of fresh poultry products. The different activities includes acquisition of feeds and stocks, brooding, medication, sanitation and hygiene, harvesting and farm recording. During the five-month period of operation, 900 chickens were raised for four cropping period. Generally, the average mortality rate for the whole business period is 5.83 percent The major products sold by the enterprise were live and dressed chicken which also include entrails like liver and gizzards. Live chicken was sold at P 60.00 per kilo and dressed chicken was sold at P 70.00 per kilo. The market of the enterprise includes walk-in buyers\ retailers, restaurants and others. The main problems that the entrepreneurs faced in the conduct of the project were availability of funds, high price of production inputs, and high mortality rate during cold seasons.
