BATAC, JENNIELYN P. Embryo Culture of Phalaenopsis in Blooms Avenue, Brgy. Taywanak , Alfonso, Cavite, Farm Practice Report. Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Major in Horticulture. Cavite Sate University, Indang, Cavite. April 2006. Adviser: Dr. Adolfo C. Manuel Jr.
Internship on the micro propagation of Phalaenopsis through embryo culture was undertaken at Blooms Avenue, Brgy. Taywanak Ilaya, Alfonso, Cavite from August 22 to December 10, 2005. The activity aimed to provide the student-trainee an opportunity to learn and acquire skills in embryo culture of orchid. This farm exposure enabled her to apply the knowledge she gained in the classrooms to actual tissue culture work. Her skills in embryo culture were further enhanced. She performed appropriate techniques in cleaning of culture bottles, growth media preparation, collection of orchid pod, and reflasking. During the training, the student encountered a problem due to the remoteness of the farm which made transportation cost higher.
