Abstract: CAPARAS, CARLO M. and MANALO, CHRISTAN JONATHAN D. iLock: A SYSTEM SECURITY FOR LABORATORY EXERCISES OF STUDENTS IN DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, CAVITE STATE UNIVERSITY—MAIN CAMPUS. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2019. Adviser: Ms. Julie Ann C. Lontoc. This study was conducted from August 2018 to May 2019 at Cavite State University - Main Campus. The purpose of the study was to protect files by encryption and decryption ofthe students who use computer laboratory. The system provides backup files in case of file loss and file corruption. The system can also be used by the instructors to check files of the students. The system can also find duplicate files in the computer. Waterfall method was used in the development of the software which consists of the planning, requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, deployment and maintenance. The tools used to create is Java NetBeans as the application platform, Adobe Photoshop CS6 for designing. Eighty participants from Cavite State University- Main Campus and 15 faculty members Of Department of Information Technology and 15 IT professionals outside the campus evaluated the system. The results were collected through an evaluation form based on ISO 9126. According to the overall evaluation results, the system was judged to be excellent in all software quality criteria such as functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability, and portability. Upon the completion of the study, the proponents concluded that this would be a solution for the unsecured laboratory files of the students of Department of Information and Technology of Cavite State University-Main Campus.
