Abstract: PANZER, DANIEL BENJAMIN T. and BASHAN, JEFFREY B. Social Work Intervention To Farmers Affected By Typhoons In General Emilio Aguinaldo, Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis, Bachelor of Science in Social Work Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2018. Thesis Adviser Jayson B. Omugtong, RSW. This study was conducted from September 2017 to March 2018 to twenty eight (28) farmers participants. This study generally aimed to know and understand the impact of typhoons on the lives of farmers in General Emilio Aguinaldo, Cavite. Specifically this study aimed to: (1) determine the effects of typhoons on the lives of farmers; (2) determine the assistance do farmers get from the local government; (3) identify the alternative solutions of the farmers in coping up with the impacts of typhoons; and (4) determine the programs and services of MSWDO with farmers who were affected by typhoon. In this study, the researchers involved 28 participants living with their wives and children. The researchers selected 8 participants who undergo for interview. The researchers utilized purposive sampling considering the set criteria and as suggested by the Municipal Agriculture Office The researchers used qualitative design with narrative and interpretative analysis for detailed examination of the participants' lived experiences. The results were carefully analyzed. Themes related to research question were summarized. The result showed that the farmers should be more productive and diligent in order to cope with their lives as affected by the typhoons and weather condition. Farmers earn differently but they are depending on one natural source, for their own needs and supply their everyday needs. In terms of health there were some of them who used the natural sources of medicine, majority of them learned to depend on themselves rather than use of the western medicines in managing their illness. On the other hand. other farmers see the typhoons are part of their routine as farmers and sometimes they do not mind if there are typhoons or not. The farmers got different assistance from their local government such as fertilizers, vegetables seeds, and root crops equipment. These assistance helped them to develop their farming and even their lifestyle. Aside from this, it also helped them to become responsible in nurturing their own product in order to sustain the supply of their needs. The alternative solutions that the farmers did when typhoon destroyed their root crops. Some of them engage in piggery and poultry, some of them enter into construction works, and some of them sell the products that can be sold in the market.
