The study was conducted from August 2018 to June 2019 in Brgy.Ligtong, Rosario,
Cavite with 192 heads of households as the participants of the study. The study aimed to
identify the level of exposure of the selected participants to NDRRMC's emergency alert
warning message, level of awareness on the content of the message, level of preparedness
after they have received the message, significant relationship between the exposure and their
awareness, their exposure to the message and effectiveness to disaster preparedness, and
their awareness on the content and effectiveness to disaster preparedness. The study was a
descriptive survey method that used stratified sampling in identifying the participants.
The study showed that majority of the selected heads of households were moderately
exposed to the emergency alert warning message because most of them turned on their cell
broadcast feature to receive the alerts and were moderately aware on the content of the alert.
Moreover, they were highly prepared towards the disaster after they have received the advisory.
Also, it was revealed that there was a significant relationship between exposure to the
emergency alert warning message and awareness on the content, exposure and their disaster
preparedness after they received the message, and awareness on the content and disaster
preparedness.
