The study was conducted to determine the relationship between interests, attitudes, and academic performance in Science of the senior students in selected public schools in Western Cavite. Specifically, it sought to determine the: 1) profile of the students’ in terms of age, gender, family income, fathers’ occupation, mothers! occupation, fathers' educational attainment, and mothers' educational attainment; 2) respondents’ level of interest in Science; 3) respondents' level of attitude towards Science in terms of the following components: a.) social implications of Science, b). normality of scientists, c.) attitude towards scientific inquiry, d) adoption of scientific attitude e) enjoyment of Science lessons, f) leisure interest in Science, and g) career interest in Science; 4) respondents’ level of academic performance in Science 5) relationship between interests in Science and respondents’ profile; 6) relationship between attitudes toward Science and respondents’ profile; and 7) relationship between respondents' interests in Science and academic performance in Science; 8) relationship between respondents’ attitudes toward Science and academic performance in Science; and 9.) relationship between respondents’ interests in Science and attitudes toward Science. The study used the descriptive correlational method. It made use of a rating scale as the principal instrument in gathering the desired data. The respondents involved 772 fourth year high school students in selected public schools in Western Cavite. The statistical tests used in the study were frequency counts, percentage, means, standard deviations, Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient, Point Biserial Correlation Coefficient and Contingency Coefficient. After analyzing and interpreting the data, the following were revealed: Majority of the senior students were 16 years old. Most of them were female. Their monthly family income ranged from P 3001 — P 6000. Majority of their fathers and mothers were non-professionals and were high school and vocational school graduates only. On the other hand, the student-respondents were found to be much interested in Science. They exhibited a moderately favorable attitude towards Science and their overall academic performance in Science was classified as good.
