Buena A three month entrepreneurial development project was conducted in Blk. 10 Sec.16 Lot. 1 Brgy. Paradahan II, Tanza Cavite from November 27, 2015 to March 2, 2016. The enterprise aimed to apply management and marketing principles in operating the business. Specifically, it aimed to describe the operation and management in preserving and processing jam; determine the marketing strategies appropriate to market the products; determine the profitability of operating the entreprise; and identify the problems encountered and provide feasible solutions. The initial capital investment of the business, P30,000.00, was shared equally by each member of the group. The concept of the business was producing fruit preserve products such as Pineapple Jam and Coconut Jam. The entrepreneurs also add pineapple and coconut jelly candy. The highest production was achieved during the second month (December) of operation wherein the production cost of P5,872.71, while the lowest production was obtained during the third month (February) which amounted to P1,817.20. A total cost of production amounted to P14,020.93 for the entire operation. Jam Delight generated a net income of P3,196.70 and an ending balance of P31,549.60. The business Gross Profit Margin was 64 percent, Net Profit Margin was 9.96 percent, Return of Investment was 10.65 percent and the Return of Assets was 10.13 The entreprenuers encountered problems such as sourcing the bottles or jar needed for the operations; high cost of pectin and lemon; and low sales especially during the early stage of operations. However, they were able to find solutions to the problems identified the entrepreneurs tried to find a cheaper supplier of the said bottles: the entrepreneurs decided to used sugar and calamansi as substitute for the said ingredients; the entrepreneurs adopted new strategies and promotion on their product to gain additional sales.
