The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted the economy and affected the firms' performance, which caused an increase and decrease to the financial performance of the food manufacturing firms. This study aimed to determine the effects of COVID-19 pandemic towards the financial performance of selected food manufacturing firms in the Philippines. This research study was conducted from March 2021 to January 2022 in the Philippines. Secondary data was used in this study, composing of the publicly disclosed financial statements covering periods starting from 2010 to 2020. These data were gathered from the official websites of selected publicly listed food manufacturing firms in the Philippines. After collecting the financial data, the profitability ratios such as net profit ratio, gross profit ratio and operating ratio were utilized to determine the financial performance of the manufacturing firms. Based on the results, the net profit ratio of Company A, B and D increased while Company C and E decreased during the pandemic. Meanwhile, the gross profit ratio of Company A, B and C increased, while Company D and E decreased during the pandemic. The operating ratio of Company A, C, and E increased, while Company B and D decreased during the pandemic. Multiple linear regression was used to determine the effects of COVID-19 pandemic towards the financial performance of selected food manufacturing firms in the Philippines employing the ordinary least square (OLS) regression with robust standard error (Newey-West standard error). The findings revealed that the COVID-19 pandemic has a negative effect on the financial performance of Company A, B, C and E, however, it has a positive effect on the financial performance of Company D. This study contributes to both practice and existing literature or studies due to the results derived from this study that serves as the source of information and gives empirical evidence about how COVID-19 pandemic affected the financial performance of selected food manufacturing firms.
