Abstract: FERRER, JESSEBEL C. and PALAGANAS, MAE J. "Exposure to Television Advertisements and Brand Loyalty on Selected Shampoos. " Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication. Major in Journalism, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. Adviser: Mrs. Irma M. Penalba The study was conducted to determine the relationship between exposure to television advertisements and brand loyalty on selected shampoos. This study was conducted in Barangay Lallana, Trece Martires City, Cavite from December 2001 to February 2002. Two hundred eighty consumer-respondents accomplished a survey form on exposure to television advertisements and brand loyalty on selected shampoos. The answers of the respondents on all items of the questionnaire were given scores and rated as high, average, and low. Exposure to television advertisements was found to be related to the brand loyalty of the respondents because the computed chi-square of 14.17 was greater than the tabular chi-square of 9.49 at five percent level. This led to the rejection of the null hypothesis, meaning there was significant relationship between exposure to television advertisements and brand loyalty among the consumer-respondents. It is highly recommended that television advertisements should be encouraged especially for products like shampoos in order to develop brand loyalty.
