Abstract: REYES, AJAY LUCERO AND SENORES, DARLENE, PRODUCTION ENTERPRISE OF ROMAINE LETTUCE (Lactuca sativa L.) USING TRADITIONAL MULCHING Enterprise Development Project Report. Bachelor in Agricultural Entrepreneurship, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2018. Adviser. Ms. Abigail P. Dada. The Enterprise Development Project was conducted at Brgy 2, Ternate, Cavite from January 2018 to March 2018. It aimed to have profitable business of lettuce; to provide students with the knowledge and skills in the production enterprise of lettuce using rice hull as mulch and solve the problems that will encounter in the production enterprise of lettuce. The project was involved growing of romaine lettuce using rice hull as mulch, under open field condition. This kind of project was a partnership type of business and with 300 sq. meters of land area, lettuce population was 2, 880 plants. The pre-production activities were started from purchasing of lettuce seeds and other tools needed. Land preparation up to marketing was under production activities. The hardening, transplanting of lettuce seedlings, watering twice a day, applying of rice hull as mulch, applying of organic fertilizer ( Fermented Plant Juice and Fermented Fruit Juice) were part of production activities. Romaine lettuce was harvested when it reaches their full size. The deformed and damaged lettuce was carefully separate from marketable lettuce. The lettuce was marketed in Naic public Market, Municipal Office in Ternate, Imus, CvSU-Main Campus and Municipal Office of Indang, Cavite. The gross income was Php20, 700. The net income was computed and amounting to Php8, 815. The return on investment (ROI) was 74.17 percent.
