Abstract: BAJAR, SARAH JANE MARTINEZ: Demographic Profile, Personality Traits and Academic Performance of Fourth Year High School Students of Tagaytay City National High School: Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Cavite State University, April 2013. Thesis Adviser: Ms. Mary Joyce B. Eyaya. This study was conducted to determine the Demographic Profile, Personality Traits and Academic Performance of Fourth Year High School Students of Tagaytay City National High School. The specific objectives of the study aimed to: determine the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of gender and age; determine the personality traits of the participants as to openness to experience, conscientiousness, extroversion, agreeableness and neuroticism; determine the academic performance of the respondents based on the general average on their second grading period and know if there is a significant relationship between demographic profile and personality traits; demographic profile and academic performance, and personality traits and academic performance of the respondents. The respondents were gathered by the use of stratified random sampling. A validated personality traits test was administered to determine the demographic profile, personality traits of the respondents. The respondents of this study were 245 selected fourth year students of Tagaytay City National High School. Results revealed that in term of personality traits, majority of the participants were extrovert. The academic performance of respondents reveals to be satisfactory, which mean that they attained an average grade in their classes. On the other hand, the academic performance has a significant relationship on their personality traits. The age of the respondents has a relationship on their academic performance and personality traits. Gender also has a significant relationship in their academic performance. As a whole, the study only shows that gender has no significance relationship with their personality traits.
