Abstract: SUPNET, EDELYN Y. Leadership Styles and Management Practices of Female Finance Managers in Selected Companies of Cavite Export Processing Zone Areas. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Business Management, major in Financial Management. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2014. Adviser: Ms. Ludivinia F. Victorino. The study was conducted to determine the leadership styles and management practices of women finance managers in selected companies of Cavite Export Processing Zone Areas. Specifically, it aimed to: 1) describe the personal profile of women finance managers in selected companies of Cavite Export Processing Zone Areas in terms of age, civil status, and educational attainment; 2) determine business characteristics of selected companies in Cavite Export Processing Zone Areas in terms of years in operation, estimated annual sales, annual expenses, and annual net profit; 3) identify the leadership styles of women finance managers; 4) determine the management practices of women finance managers in terms of accounting information system, cash management, receivable management, and financial planning; 5) determine the level of efficiency of each management practices of women finance managers in terms of accounting information system, cash management, receivable management and financial planning; and 6) determine the relationship of the women finance managers' leadership styles to their management practices. Descriptive-correlational design was used in the study. It was conducted and administered in selected companies among the three Cavite Export Processing Zone Areas from August to December 2013. Data was collected through questionnaires distributed to women finance managers of selected companies. In determining the profile and business characteristics, statistical tools such as frequency count, percentage, range and mean were used. Chi-square test was used to determine the relationship between management strategies and leadership styles. The results revealed that most women finance managers carried out a participative style of leadership. Management practices in each area of financial management were carefully organized and respective duties of each staff in the department were delegated well to the subordinates. Lastly, the researcher concluded that there was no significant relationship between leadership styles and different management practices. Leadership styles do not affect the efficiency and effectiveness of each areas of financial management.
