Development of an E-commerce System for the Office of Business Affairs of Cavite State University. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. E-commerce is a great advantage in terms of business, it is a technological innovation that allows small to medium enterprises (SMEs) to compete on the same level with their larger counterparts, both internet and e-Commerce compared to physical channels gives the consumers more benefits and variety of choices on both products and services according to Agwu & Murray (2015). The Development of an E-commerce system for Office of Business Affairs in Cavite State University provides pre-ordering component, promotes the product by the main and satellite campuses and determine the availability of the products. Iterative development methodology was used by the researchers to develop a system. It consists of six (6) phases: planning, requirements analysis and design, implementation, testing, evaluation and deployment. The system was evaluated based on the criteria of functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability and portability. The system resulted based on the requirements provided by the clients and the gathered information, surveys and requirements are used by the for the objectives of the study followed by the researchers. The system is exceptional to the evaluators varied on how the information concise, accurate, secure and the module can be used normally and easily understand by the user. The programing language used to develop the system are Hypertext Markup Language 5 (HTML5), a newest version of the html compatible in almost browsers; Personal Home Page (PHP) a hypertext preprocessor used to link the html to the database server by command line interface (CLI) and JavaScript (JS) for html pop-ups, effects and services like graph model and printing data. Those programing languages are necessary tool to develop a website. The system got an overall mean of 4.57, which means that the system passed all the needed requirements and met the objectives of the study. The results show that the system was judged to be “Excellent” in general by all participants in terms of its functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability and portability. The results were tabulated, analyzed, and statistically treated using mean and standard deviation.
