Abstract: CARBONELL, CHRISTINE CLAIRE G., DE CASTRO, SHAIRA T.,LEONIZO, NICOLE E. Effectiveness of C.A.R.E. Training: For Caregivers of Elderly Persons in Barangay Kayquit, Indang, Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis.Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite, Philippines. May 2019. Adviser: Dr. Evelyn M. Del Mundo This study was conducted to give and know the effectiveness of C.A.R.E training to the caregivers among elderly persons in Kayquit, Indang, Cavite, Philippines where C is for Comfort, A is for Assessment, R is for Reminiscence, and E is for Exercise. Specifically, the study aims to: describe the socio-demographic profile of the participants, determine the level of knowledge, the level of compliance of the caregivers of the elderly persons in terms of comfort, assessment, reminiscence, and exercise and if there is any significant difference to the level of compliance to C.A.R.E training of caregivers of the elderly before and after the intervention. The study was conducted at Brgy. Kayquit, Indang, Cavite from the month of April 2018 to December 2018.In this study, researchers utilized the quasi-experimental research design. This is to assess how competent and effective the caregivers in providing care before and after conducting Comfort, Assessment, Reminiscence and Exercise Training (throughput) and to determine its effects in Kayquit, Indang, Cavite. The participants included the caregivers or family members of the elderly in Barangay Kayquit, Indang, Cavite. The researchers used purposive sampling technique to select the participants of the study. The possible participants was given a questionnaire for them to answer and if they scored 13 and below out of 15, they are included in theC.A.R.E training implementation of the researchers. A checklist was also used to evaluate the performance of the caregivers of the elderly. Only 30 of them who qualified with the inclusion criteria set by the researchers were be chosen as participants of the study. The result of the study rejects the hypotheses of the study since there is significant difference between the level of compliance before and after the C.A.R.E training. Based on the chapter of the results and discussion, the participants were able to comply, and they even improved after the training, and also, it was confirmed that the C.A.R.E training is effective since the data analysis shows that the computed value is-8.967, meaning there is significance difference before and after the training. In line with the results of the study, the researchers recommend for the future researchers to have the C.A.R.E training implemented in other areas of Cavite and determine if it is also effective, in other regions of the country, or have it with a bigger sample size.
