IYOYO, DANIEL BRIAN C. and WARELE, TOMMY. Development of a GSM Controlled AC Power Outlet. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Industrial Technology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2015. Thesis Adviser: Mr. Ronald E. Araño.
The study was conducted to design a system that may control the outlet through SMS and to inform the owner if intruders and smoke are detected. Performance of the device was evaluated through actual testing.
The GSM controlled AC power outlet proved to be functional in controlling the AC outlet. The design project has a GSM module and microcontroller-based system corresponding to the SIM number in which the traditional ways to use switch must be
kept.
The evaluation was conducted to determine the performance of the prototype. Evaluators from the Department of Industrial Engineering and Technology faculty were also the end users of the designed project. The evaluation proved that the designed project could control the outlet and inform the users if intruder and smoke were detected.
