Abstract: ROGADOR, TRISTAN OWEN S. Lesser Known Medicinal Plants in Upland Cavite. Special Problem Report. Bachelor of Science in Agriculure major in Horticulture. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. March 2005. Adviser: Dr. Adolfo Manuel. A survey of lesser known medicinal plants in Upland Cavite was conducted from October 2004 to January 2005. The six Upland Cavite municipalities include: Maragondon, Magallanes, Amadeo, Alfonso, Indang and Silang. A total of 15 arbularyos were interviewed to identify the lesser known medicinal plants they use in healing. The 20 lesser known medicinal plants identified include: alagaw (Prema odorata Blanco), alugbati (Basella rubra Linn.), alusiman (Portulaca olearacea L.), aroma (Acacia farnesiana (L.) Willd.), buyo (Piper beetle L.), damong maria (Artemisia vulgaris L.), dilaw (Curcama longa L.), hanggod (Achryranthes asperaL.), kantutay (Lantana camara L.), kamantigue (Impatiens balsamina L.), lumbang (Aleurites moluccana), niyog-niyogan (Quisqualis indica L.), pandakaki-puti (Tabernamontana pandacaqui Poir), puso-pusoan (Aristolochia philippinensis Warb), solasi (Ocimum sanctum), takip-kohol (Centella asiatica L.), talahib (Saccharum spontaneum), talumpunay (Datura metel Linn.), tsatsahan (Lippia nodiflora L.), and urai (Amaranthus spinosus L.). Aside from having medicinal properties, some species were reported to be cultivated as ornamental plants or vegetable crops
