Abstract: HERMOSO, RONNIE ROLLE. "Cavite Farmers Feed milling and. Marketing Cooperative (CAFFMACO): A Case Study." B.S. Thesis, Agricultural Economics, Don Severino Agricultural College, April 1989. Adviser: Miss Lorna V. Alcones. This study was conducted to: 1) describe the management and operations of a feed milling venture; 2) analyze the problems of CAFFMACO; 3) ascertain the profitability and/or viability of CAFFMACO; and 4) recommend possible solutions to the problems of CAFFMACO. Cavite Farmers Feed milling and. Marketing Cooperative (CAFFMACO) in Barangay San Vicente, Silang, Cavite was selected as the place of study. Financial aspects, management and production procedure were considered as primary data. The profitability of the farm was determined by computing the net income and comparing the computed return of investment with the cost of capital. Results showed that the cooperative was able to generate acceptable earnings on the investments committed to the business. The high return on investment was attributed to the competent management practices employed on the cooperative and presence of definite production, harvesting and marketing program. The cooperative was financially viable with an internal rate of return of greater than 50 percent and re-turn investment (ROI) of 52.3 percent in 1988. However, with an experimental farm established in 1986, overall income generated was greatly reduced because of losses incurred from the farm. It is therefore, recommended that the cooperative concentrate its resources in feed milling and fast-moving feeds like swine feeds, poultry feeds and special ration feeds. Likewise, production capacity should be maximized in response to the growing demand for poultry and swine feeds. And to ensure ready availability of raw materials, CAFFMACO should enter into contract growing with farmers producing locally-available materials
